Falling into the pits of relaxation

I finished the relaxation technique that was set up for us. The entire time I was thinking "I don't want to be relaxed though, I want to be energetic and alert- I hate feeling lazy and calm" BUT I did what the voice said to do. Guess what? It worked! Not only did my arms and hands become very heavy and warm, they also became tingly. I was relieved at the end of the session when the voice said that we would come back to a calm state BUT energized. AND I did. I LIKE that very much so.. I was in the midst of this activity (knowing good and well I should just be paying attention to only what the voice was saying) that I wish that I could make my body be more energized without having to workout--see as of right now that is the only thing that makes me truly happy during the day- working out, running around playing with my daughter, or cleaning the house...I can't stand not having anything to do. This activity proved that I can feel lively while giving my body the rest that it may need. How lovely!!! Does anyone else want to go on my 14mile run today with me:) See you then.

  1. Aly,
So glad to her that the exercise was helpful to you. I myself hate not having anything to do. I always have to be moving. I have learned that relaxing actually makes me feel more energized.

  2. Aly, I was on the run with you in spirit!! I ran 14 on Saturday! I was very surprised when I couldnt move my arms!! Are you training for anything? I loved this exercise and I even used it on my run to take my mind off of my aches and pains around mile 12!!

  3. Hi Aly, I glad that the exercise techniques helped you because I too don't like to feel lazy, I like to keep moving and doing things.l But when i listen to the message and did as the voice said, I was so relaxed because our bodies sometimes need a totally relaxed moment and that exercise really helped me. So keep using the relaxation exercise to keep our body, mind, and spirit in shape and from stress. I would love to go on therun with you today, but only in my mind, I don't run but I will walk along side you.

  4. Hi Aly, I'm not up to 14 miles, but I can do 6, lol. At the moment that's my limit. I love to bike ride and I do power lift training for competition. I do like some down time but don't know how. Loved this relaxation. It was only 15 minutes and it was all I needed. Ready to go afterwords. Keep your eyes on the finish line.
